City Planning Researcher

We are seeking a city planning researcher to support our design team in London on a part-time freelance basis, with a research focus on new towns, particularly in Saudi Arabia. The role involves building a body of reference material that informs our master planning work: assembling case studies of historic and contemporary new town developments, analysing their planning models, densities and phasing strategies, and reviewing the policy context shaping urban development in the Kingdom.
Currently studying towards, or recently completed, a degree in urban planning, urban design, architecture, geography or a related discipline
Demonstrable research ability, including the capacity to work independently, structure a line of enquiry and synthesise material from a wide range of sources
Strong written English and the ability to communicate research findings clearly and concisely
An interest in urbanism, master planning and the development of new towns
Familiarity with Saudi Arabia's urban development context, including Vision 2030 and its associated giga-projects, is beneficial
Fluency in Arabic is advantageous
